Food, Faith and Satisfaction and an Invitation

December 16, 2017 By mollieh02 2 Comments

I am an emotional eater. When I’m sad I want all the food. Let me tell you, I have had many sad moments recently. My mom passed away unexpectedly 4 months ago and I have done quite a job putting food on top of all those feelings. This past January I had started a fitness journey as a fitness coach and lost a good bit of weight, but I managed to gain most of it back in the last four months. I completely abandoned the things I knew were good for my body and the things that keep my body happy. I ate out most every day after the onslaught of food brought by friends stopped. I stopped exercising, which I did almost daily before.

As someone who tries to encourage women and equip them with the ability to love themselves and their bodies where they are, I don’t feel good when I look in the mirror right now. I feel tired and like I’ve let down not only myself, but the people who have been following me for the last year.

So, I’ve decided to do something about it. A reboot on my relationship with food if you will and a journey to grow closer to God. Maybe you share some of the same feelings I’ve been having?  Maybe you need to learn how to love yourself better? Or maybe you need to learn to put down the fork and seek out the one who truly provides comfort to the weary and hurting? I’m ready to get started and I would like to invite you to join me on the journey. Starting in January I will be hosting a study on the book Full by Asheritah Ciuciu, in a private Facebook group. In her book she explores how to create a healthier relationship with food through a stronger relationship with Jesus!

Face to face, oh how I long to be….

Today I am overwhelmed as I think back to the Garden of Eden.  To Adam and Eve being the only humans to ever walk side by side with God in physical form. They could reach out and touch Him, talk to Him and hear an audible voice in response. They had the privilege to come face to face with Him.  They had a relationship with Him like we have with one another.  I am in awe of that relationship they got to have with God.  Maybe even a little bit jealous of them.
Take a moment and think about what it must have been like to have a physical tangible relationship with God. Are you crying yet? No? Think on it a little harder. Imagine reaching out and touching the maker of all creation.  To actually lay your hand in His.  Talking to Him and hearing His voice.  Standing face to face with Him.
I don’t know about you, but just the thought of it sends tears cascading down my face.  You and I can’t go back to those early days in the Garden and walk with Him, but we will walk with Him one day.

I leave you with this song, that in part captures the absolute awe that the thought of being that close to Him inspires.

Sometimes I like to think God still has the Garden of Eden hidden away in some remote part of the world waiting for the day His children will return to it and walk with Him in relationship like He planned all along.  I can only imagine…

Godspeed,

What I learned from yesterday!

July 19, 2014 By mollieh02 4 Comments

God used my vast experience of one post to teach me. He showed me how He could use one step of faith, one simple act of obedience on my part to bless me back beyond measure.  30 seconds of insane courage is what it took to push publish on that first post, and then I inwardly grimaced thinking no one would read it.  God used that mere act to give me a glimpse of what can happen when you are faithful to act when He says move.

At the end of the night I had 7 likes on my facebook page, 10 comments on the blog, one email subscriber, oh and someone had shared my post on facebook!  Of those only one blog comment and the 7 facebook likes were from people I knew the rest were perfect strangers until yesterday!

Now these numbers aren’t huge by any means, but to the girl who was sure she didn’t have anything to say that anyone needed to hear, they are something to celebrate!  God rewarded me with so much joy yesterday and words can’t describe how my heart jumped when I read the comment from a women who had been led to my blog by the post on fb!  Some even said they were encouraged by my bravery.  So you see, you never know what you have to say that God will use to help someone else along the way.  Even if it’s just your own story.

I don’t recount my success to pat myself on the back or toot my own horn, but to show you the joy that can come about when you charge forward.  In the midst of a world that says you can’t, God says you can!

What will you do with 30 seconds of insane courage today?  Do you have it?  Good.  Hold on tight.

READY

SET

GO!

Then come back here and tell me about it.  🙂

Godspeed,

Mollie
